In university, I almost believed it. This doctrine of might makes right in world affairs. I should say I almost believed in it. But, then I started to think about that a little. And I became of the mind that we need to do everything we can to make sure people have basic human rights the world over. I guess I also say this as someone who has always been a little different.
It takes a lot of courage to consistently stand up for human rights, especially within countries that are very much part of the international system. China is a great example. That is why I am so inspired by these folks who unfurled a Free Tibet banner off the Great Wall of China this week.
