Workflow suggestions?

I work best when I block time for different activities, but I find it difficult to engage in this practice consistently.

I have an urge to be always connected to others, and to be plugged in.

I have been in a phase in my life in which I really need the best organization possible. Lots of extremely important and worthwhile activities, and I don't subscribe to the notion of paring back - not as job #1 anyways.

So, any workflow suggestions would be very useful. I think I am going to spend the next half hour before bed researching David Allen's "getting things done" framework again .
